Payment, insurance and finance information

Additional information regarding payment and your account

Health Insurance Coverage

If your hospital stay is to be covered by insurance, please organise approval with your insurer and bring documentation with you on the day of your surgery.

Remember that you are responsible for the costs of your treatment so it is important that you understand the cover that your insurer will provide for you as claim processes differ with all insurance companies.

After your surgery you will receive an invoice from Ormiston Hospital for hospital costs only. You will also receive a separate invoice from your surgeon, and in most cases, an invoice from your anesthetist. Once these have been received it is your responsibility to forward these onto your insurer.

ACC Funded

If your costs are covered by ACC, your surgeon will gain payment approval from ACC prior to any surgery being undertaken.

Any additional miscellaneous costs incurred while in hospital will be charged to you. Please note, you will also need to cover the costs of any medication.

Self-Paying

If you are self-paying (paying for all of the cost of your procedure), you will be responsible for all costs incurred.  Please contact Ormiston Hospital for an estimate of your hospital costs. A deposit or full cost of all hospital costs may be required prior to your surgery with any balance payable on discharge.

Please note that hospital costs are separate to surgeon and anaesthetist fees, please speak with your surgeon about this matter.

Payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard, Eftpos, or by Direct Credit.

Whilst we do not offer finance at Ormiston Hospital, we accept Q Card. Patients may also wish to look into Nova Medical as a finance option – please liaise with them directly.
